Bert Cicenia Award

True Homes receives 2023 Bert Cicenia Award

The Bert Cicenia Award was established in honor of Dr. Ebert (Bert) F. Cicenia, who was instrumental in seeing the need for a Children’s Advocacy Center in Dorchester County. This award is presented annually to someone who has helped to improve the lives of abused and neglected children in the Lowcountry, and this year’s award was presented to True Homes!

True Homes is a local Carolina’s based, semi-custom home builder dedicated to bringing the best new home designs, style, and value to residential communities throughout North and South Carolina. True Homes is also committed to having a positive impact on the communities in which they build homes in. For every 500 homes built by True Homes, their foundation, True Foundation, donates a home to a local organization of their choosing; and in 2021, Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center was the recipient of one of those homes!

The home that was so generously donated will soon be the location of our new Berkeley Children’s Advocacy Center in Moncks Corner. This new facility will allow us the opportunity to serve our Berkeley County clients more efficiently, and offer child victims and their families a way to find comfort, healing, and justice. We are forever grateful to True Homes for their steadfast support!
