Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
What is Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month?
April is a month dedicated to spreading awareness about the realities of child abuse, which affect our communities everyday.
What are we doing for CAP Month?
Pinwheels are the national symbol for child abuse prevention. They represent the joy and happiness that every child deserves. You can find pinwheels and educational materials at Dorchester and Berkeley County libraries, YMCAs, police departments, sheriff’s offices, DSS offices, and solicitors’ offices.
In honor of CAP month, we want to highlight our prevention education programs. Learn more about the services we offer, visit https://kayphillipscac.org/education-resources/community-outreach/
Please join us for a tour of the Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center to find out what we do and why we do it. A catered lunch will be provided. Community Awareness Luncheons are typically held monthly and are open to the public. We will be hosting a luncheon on April 25th to discuss Child Abuse Prevention Month.
